Considering the separate need for education of women in the area and in rural areas Honourable Pioneer of our college, Shree Nanasaheb Premchand Jadhav established Senior College for women in 22 Sept. 1994. It had been run by Satpuda Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Vidyawadi, Dhule in the beginning. But Nanasaheb gave the responsibility of women’s college to women management. Hence our College is run by the women for the women Chairperson, Vice President, Secretary and Directors all are Women in the Management body from July 1999, it has been run by ‘Sonamai Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Vidyawadi Dhule’ Sonamai is the name of the mother of our Honourable pioneer Nanasaheb Premcand Jadhav. Hence it is a unique creation in Maharashtra State.
The Honourable pioneer of our Institute, Nanasaheb Premchandji Jadhav had established Satpuda Shikshan Prasarak Mandal on 2/10/1964. At first our College had been also run by the same institution and hence 22 units established by him were under Satpuda Shikshan Prasarak Mandal. But in 1999 it was transferred to Sonami Shikshan Prasarak Mandal and Hon. Bharatjyoti Mrs. Aashatai Jadhav became the chairman of the new management and it became the Mahila College run by the women for the women. Our pioneer Karmasakshi Nanasaheb Jadhav and our Chairman Bharatjyoti Aaisaheb Aashatai Jadhav are the sources of our inspiration. Their positive energy, sense of responsibility and uprightness motivates other members of the management, faculty member the non-teaching staff and to our students who is related to our institution. Our respected Ex. Principal is so inspired by the pioneer that he has written a biographical novel on his life.
Late Hon. Nanasaheb Premchand Jadhav is the founder of Sonamai Shikshan Prasarak Mandal. He was under the inspirational influence of late Chief Minister of Maharashtra Hon. Vasantraoji Naik. He was the canvasser and broadcaster of ‘Khadi’ his outlook was broad and noble. He was aware of the condition of all the concerned people. He has been a source of inspiration for all of us.
Late Hon. Nanasaheb Jadhav kept the foundation stone of Sonamai Shikshan Prasarak Mandal in 1994. His devoted and dedicated wife Hon. Aashatai Premchand Jadhav is the chairman of the institute. All the member of the trust are women. ‘Vidyavatich Shilvatich Nari’ is the moto of the institute. And the girl students have got concrete form to their hopes and tribal girl students have got provision for their educational progress by means of the quality education given by our institute. They came more confidently to our institute as they got the wholesole importance and are treated with warm heart by the trust and the staff. The institute has good infrastructure and fulfils all the needs of the college. The institute always tries to give morals and noble values like humbleness creativity, honesty, leadership capacity, loyalty, curiosity, sense of responsibility duty-oriented outlook, how to be a good professional, respect for mother nature etc. The institute tries its level best to give moral base to the mind-sets of our girl students by means of ethical teaching and quality education. Most of our girl students are from rural and tribal areas, most of them are economically challenged class, most of them are first generation learners but they are turning their challenges in to opportunities by means of higher education.
